I'm from a forest in Connecticut, born four minutes & nine years between my brothers. I grew up in the middle of nowhere, & generally, this meant that if I wanted something, I had to create it. This approach—& the innate desire to not just make something, but also make it cute—is so ingrained in my sense of being, that it took a while to even perceive it as a skill. I’ve been making comics since I learned what they were, but have been keeping variations on diary strips since high school, when I discovered American Elf, by James Kochalka.
I graduated from Sarah Lawrence College after studying what I like to call "the relationship between words and pictures.” I totally utilize my degree at my day job as a barista in Hudson, NY. I love my weird cat (Spike), drink a lot of cold brew (light ice, soy milk, syrup), & watch way, way, way too much TV. Of course, I am left-handed.
