“Ask Malzo” started as a cartoon advice column on Tumblr, as well as an umbrella phrase to capture the disparate, goofy, inquisitive tone of my journal comics. At some point, I ambled into snarky commentary on customer service & capitalism, the minutiae of pet ownership, musings on decades-long love of tarot, armchair analyses of outdated TV shows, using polycephaly as a means to conduct an inner dialogue, & ruminating on the way the way we continue to grieve our loved ones throughout our lives, though we try to be inspired by their memories.
Ask Malzo refers to any comics from the perspective of Mallory Murphy, the cartoon character. She has wandered onto murals in the streets of Hudson, into zines, & calendars, but she mostly hangs out on Instagram.
